Position Summary: The Non-destructive Examination (NDE) leader oversees the delivery of non-destructive examination (NDE) services throughout the company's service territory and leads teams of employees directly or indirectly in a specific geographic region. Leaders collaborate and coordinate with other departments in and outside of Gas Operations for the effective management of NDE operations. The leader contributes toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. A reasonable salary range is: Bay Area Minimum: $ 109,000. Bay Area Maximum: $ 175,000. &/OR California Minimum: $ 104,000. California Maximum: $ 166,000. Job Responsibilities: • Estimates, plans and coordinates project logistics • Staffs jobs and schedules the work of NDE technicians.
• Assesses and verifies skills, knowledge and abilities of personnel assigned to various tasks.
• Maintains current status and calibration records for equipment per PG&E and Industry requirements.
• Assures the appropriate equipment and consumables are available to perform scheduled work.
• Assures current status and maintenance of NDE technician certification records.
• Ensures that the requirements of PG&E's Gas NDE Program are met by all individuals performing NDE inspections
• Performs NDE audits (employees and contractors) to ensure compliance to PG&E standards and best practices. • Responsible to deliver work on schedule and budget
• Assures all NDE related work is performed safely and in accordance with all state and federal laws
• Recruits, selects, communicates expectations, fosters employee engagement, coaches, develops, mentors, recognizes and rewards employees in order to drive performance and results. Manages union-represented technical employee
Qualifications: Minimum:
High School diploma or equivalent
5 years of relevant experience
Desired:
ASNT Level 2 or 3 in various NDE methods/ AWS Certified Welding Inspector and/or Certified Radiographic Interpreter
Lead or supervisory experience
