Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Full Time
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing brain SPECT scans and related quality assurance procedures in a fast-paced outpatient healthcare setting. This role requires technical expertise, patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform brain SPECT scans and ensure imaging quality.
- Prepare IVs and administer patient doses.
- Process and print scan images before the end of the workday.
- Implement and oversee testing protocols.
- Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and comfort during procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in the applicable state (Required).
- Ability to work efficiently with large patient volumes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to patients.
- Time management and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Empathy and emotional stability, ensuring positive patient interactions.
- Familiarity with brain imaging (Preferred).
- Experience with Picker Prism 3000 system (Preferred).
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent typing, screen viewing, and use of office equipment.
- Prolonged sitting during imaging procedures.
- Frequent hearing, listening, and verbal communication.
- Moderate noise level, working indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
