Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Unit Details
- Specialty: Stepdown / Cardiac Progressive (Cardiac Transitional Care Unit – 18406209)
- Beds: Part of a 245-bed, Level III Emergency & Trauma Center
- Patient Ratio: 3–4:1
- Float Requirement: Customary – must float as needed within scope
- EMR: Epic
- Scrubs: Black
Position Requirements
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year Stepdown/Cardiac Progressive experience
- Vaccination: Flu vaccine required (Nov 1 – Apr 1, client-approved exemptions only)
- References: 2 supervisory references within last 2 years
- Other: Must be able to float, provide flexible weekend coverage
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care by developing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions
- Administer medications, IV therapy, wound care, and emergency interventions
- Triage, monitor, and document patient conditions (cardiac stepdown patients)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and evaluate care
- Educate patients/families on conditions, medications, and self-care practices
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and compliance with Joint Commission standards
- Supervise and delegate to unlicensed assistive personnel as needed
Contract Guidelines
Contract Length: 13–26 weeks (up to 2/1/25)
Time Off: Up to 5 days per 13 weeks automatically approved; anything more requires prior approval
Weekends: Every other weekend required unless pre-approved
Holidays: Must be available to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day)
