About the Clinician's WorkdayThis hospital-based position occasionally requires oversight of CRNAs at the ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled and a physician is needed at that location. The facility uses Cerner for documentation, is transitioning to EPIC, and still uses some paper charting. On average, there is one cardiac surgery per day (though not daily) and 57 general cases per day; the provider must help cover general cases when cardiac cases are not scheduled. The practice includes six anesthesiologists and serves patients across all age groupsadolescent, child, adult, and geriatricthough very sick children are referred to hospitals with more specialized pediatric care. There are eight operating rooms in use at any given time. Visa candidates cannot be accepted, and the estimated credentialing timeframe is 8 to 12 weeks.
