Position Summary Information
Job Goal
JOB PURPOSE/GOAL: To provide direct operational leadership and support to academic deans and program areas, ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of credit-bearing academic programs. This role supports the Vice President of Teaching and Learning in fostering a culture of academic excellence, student success, and fiscal responsibility within the college's educational offerings.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Directly supervise and strategically mentor academic deans on curriculum development, faculty performance, and program analytics.
2. Initiate and lead inter-departmental collaborations to streamline academic processes and achieve strategic institutional goals.
3. Lead the development and implementation of district-wide academic schedules and faculty assignments, optimizing resource utilization and student access.
4. Supervise, observe, and evaluate classroom performance of assigned faculty. Recommend the selection, retention, and dismissal of assigned faculty and staff members.
5. Assist with district-wide schedule planning and assignment of faculty.
6. Supervise the Arts and Science Chair; establishing processes to cover faculty observations,
discipline assessment plans and measurement of student outcomes.
7. Orchestrate the integration of efforts of the Quality Faculty Plan Committee, Department of Innovation and Design, and the academic deans to deliver a standardized and robust faculty onboarding program, resulting in improved faculty retention.
8. Ensure a comprehensive and collaborative faculty mentoring and evaluation process which incorporates the learning management system rubrics and students rating system(s).
