Sr Kafka Administrator with Ansible

Position Description
We are seeking a Kafka/DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain next-generation data streaming and event-driven platforms. The role includes:

Architecting and developing event-driven platforms using modern frameworks and DevOps best practices.
Administering Kafka (installing, upgrading, automating, configuring, troubleshooting on Linux).
Supporting automation, monitoring, security, integration, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.
Ensuring business continuity across Kafka, middleware, CI/CD, networking, and databases.
Communicating technical information effectively to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field (Master's/Doctorate may substitute).
8+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and/or RHEL administration.
4+ years with Kafka (Confluent, Apache, or Amazon MSK).
4+ years with Ansible automation.
Public Trust clearance required.
Must work onsite in Woodlawn, MD (5 days/week).

Required Skills

Strong Ansible automation (playbooks/roles, peer review).
Kafka administration and architecture (partitioning, replication, disaster recovery).
Scripting (Bash, Shell, Python).
RHEL administration and basic networking.
CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
Experience with Git/Bitbucket, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker, and Agile methodologies.
Familiarity with tools like ZooKeeper, Flink, Pinot, Prometheus, Grafana.

Desired Skills

Confluent Kafka certifications (CCAAK, CCDAK).
Event processing frameworks (Kafka Streams, Flink, ksqlDB).
Domain Driven Design (DDD).
Kafka Connect API and connectors.
Avro/JSON serialization and schema registry.
AWS/cloud technologies (certifications preferred).
Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
Relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
