Histology Associate ROCGJP

Hourly pay: $35-$45/hr
Worksite: Leading biotechnology company (Tucson, AZ 85755 - Onsite, Travel will be required and will depend on business needs)
W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
40 hours/week, 12 Month Assignment

A leading biotechnology company is seeking a Histology Associate. The successful candidate will support the functions of the histology laboratories in the performance of routine histotechniques.
Histology Associate Responsibilities:

Histotechniques (Tissue Sectioning and Staining):
- Demonstrate foundational histotechniques of embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing, and primary staining.
- Operate laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
Quality and Safety:
- Maintain the right to operate and ensure that all processes are performed safely and healthily.
- Address and escalate any potentially unsafe hazards. Timely reports safety hazards, incidents, and near misses using safety reporting tools.
Participate in process improvement activities.

Histology Associate Qualifications:

1 year of direct related histology experience.
H.S. Diploma or GED.
Experience with foundational histotechniques of embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing and primary staining.
Experience with operating laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement.
Experience with Google products (Gmail, Sheets, Doc, etc), preferred.
Experience with SAP required.
Ability to read, analyze and follow operating procedures.
Knowledge of basic manufacturing and laboratory techniques.
Skilled use of word processing and email.
Ability to be agile and accurate in a high-volume environment, use the technology associated with the industry, as well as precision tools.

Shift:

Ability to work on a 1st or 2nd Shift.
This is an essential position supporting the organizational goals requiring attendance on weekends, holidays, and during emergency or exceptional conditions.
Travel will be required and will depend on business needs.
