Job Summary: The overall mental health of students in the St. Anthony-New Brighton School District is at a critical level. We need to develop a system to address and care for students' mental health within our schools. We also need to support our families as they are navigating systems to seek support for their children. Job Duties: - Collaborate with building leaders to develop and provide an increase of mental health supports
- Develop creative solutions to proactively address the social and emotional needs of students
- Serve as a member of the MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) team.
- Participates in school student support teams.
- Provides support and/or interventions in collaboration with the student support team regarding students with at risk factors for dropping out of school.
- Assists with connecting to appropriate external resources as necessary; consults with families and staff daily to support student's success in the education and social environment
- Connects students and families with basic needs resources; communicates, problem solves and shares information with community partners
- Assist with collaboration among teachers, students, families and community to meet educational needs
- Provides direct and indirect services to students experiencing mental health, social, emotional, and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school; assists with crisis support
- Provides consultation and training to staff on mental health, social, emotional, and behavioral topics
- Facilitates communication and collaboration among school, home, and community providers
- Works with district and building staff regarding McKinney-Vento eligibility and coordination, health needs, and child protection
Qualifications: - MN Licensed School Social Worker, School Counselor, or School Psychologist (preferred)
- Experience with at-risk school age youth
- Ability to work successfully with students and adults of various economic, racial and cultural backgrounds
- Experience in Restorative Practices and Trauma-Informed Practices
- Experience leading staff development regarding SEL.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health diagnoses, and evidence-based interventions.
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework.
- Knowledge of community resources and the ability to connect families to appropriate services.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, families, and staff.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform decision-making.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions: - Work is primarily performed in a school environment, requiring interaction with students, staff, and families.
- Involve occasional travel between school sites or to community organizations.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Requires effective verbal and written communication, including the ability to hear and speak clearly.
- May require responding to student crises, which can be emotionally demanding.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Academics.
1.0 FTE, 12 month position
Salary Range: $80,000-100,000 depending on experience and qualifications
