POSITION SUMMARY We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Zoning Administrative Coordinator within the DuPage County Building and Zoning Department. This position will process zoning and subdivision plat cases and plans assignments which support the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), Plat Committee, and the County Board.

RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all the duties and responsibilities performed by positions in this class.
- Coordinates cases through the zoning and subdivision process including attendance at public hearings and meetings and preparation of information and draft ordinances and resolutions for review by the ZBA, Development Committee and County Board
- Prepares and coordinates information pertaining to the Zoning and Subdivision ordinances for the public, ZBA, Plat Committee, County officials, and governmental agencies
- Reviews building permits for compliance with the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances
- Coordinates and prepares code enforcement cases and makes inspections thereto
- Provides follow-up documentation and inspection for ordinance compliance
- Develops and applies databases and computer technology (i.e.: Microsoft Office, GIS, and CAD)
- Assist to define, develop, and implement housing programs and policies that increase housing supply and options affordable to residents
- Assist in the development of strategies to increase affordable housing within the County and assist in the administration of the County's Housing Solutions Programs including land bank, Community Land Trust, and Neighborhood Revitalization Programs
- Conducts research and evaluates data to understand the local housing market, demographic trends, and affordability challenges to identify gaps in housing supply and demand. Collaborates with stakeholders, the real estate community, county and municipal partners, non-government organizations, and state and federal agencies to assist in the design and administer the County's housing initiatives, policies, and programs
- Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of housing initiatives
- Assist in the development of timelines, milestones, and action plans to guide program implementation
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Requirements for this position include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience: - Completion of a bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration or closely related field
- Two years of experience in zoning administration or planning work
