We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team and support our Aspire Platform focusing on NQM mortgages and HEI. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in managing and analyzing large data sets from multiple sources, and a keen interest in the mortgage or financial services industry who is looking to grow with our platform. You will play a critical role in ensuring cleanliness of data, analyzing loan performance, market trends, and portfolio risk to drive strategic decisions and optimize business outcomes.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to NQM loan originations and HEI.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Standardize bulk bid tapes from sellers for traders to analyze, which will include "cracking" tapes and preparing stats
- Assist in whole loan sales and securitizations by producing loan tapes, stats and interacting with clients to answer any data related questions- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders, including senior management and investors.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delinquency rates, prepayment speeds, and default probabilities to assess portfolio health.
- Identify patterns and trends in non-QM loan data to support pricing, risk assessment, and portfolio acquisition strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, risk management, and sales, to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to manage risk, improve returns and support business initiatives, such as evaluating new loan products or investor requirements.
Required Experience & Education
-Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2 - 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in mortgage, financial services, or fintech industries.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and VBA (preferred).
- Familiarity with Python or R for statistical analysis and data modeling is a plus.
- Understanding of mortgage industry concepts, particularly non-QM lending, loan securitization, or portfolio management, is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, CFPB) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with mortgage loan origination systems (LOS) or servicing platforms.
- Exposure to alternative credit data or non-traditional borrower profiles in non-QM lending.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $90K to 130K. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
