This position serves as a Web Services Security Specialist II assisting in providing limited professional support for web-related security issues and vulnerabilities In this role you will provide limited level technical support to agencies supported by DoIT for a variety of software products and custom developed applications utilized by the State of Illinois. In addition, you will assist in performing professional work of a limited level of difficulty in web-related audio and video services for agencies supported by DoIT and assist senior staff and subject matter experts (SME) with the development of security-related system documentation, operations documentation, procedures, and manuals. - Under general supervision, serves as a Web Services Security Specialist II for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) assisting in providing limited professional support for web-related security issues and vulnerabilities.
- Provides limited level technical support to agencies supported by DoIT for a variety of software products and custom developed applications utilized by the State of Illinois
- Assists in performing professional work of a limited level of difficulty in web-related audio and video services for agencies supported by DoIT.
- Assists senior staff and subject matter experts (SME) with the development of security-related system documentation, operations documentation, procedures, and manuals:
- Prepares and maintains written documentation for assigned tasks.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field by continuing education through attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications - Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
- Requires one (1) year of Application Services or related Information Technology experience.
Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance) - One (1) year of professional experience with programming capabilities such as HTML or XML.
- One (1) year of professional experience with Virtual PC & Server, SQL Server, Windows Servers, Firewalls, IIS web servers, DNS, or similar concepts.
- Working knowledge of video and audio streaming.
- Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgment in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
- Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.
