Ideal Candidate The Hillsborough County Water Resources Department is seeking a Senior Supervisor to manage and oversee administrative support positions, responsible for providing services within the Technical Services Division of approximately 100 employees. The Senior Supervisor performs daily operational management to ensure functions performed and delivered by the administrative support team meet expected department and division standards in an efficient, effective, and consistent manner. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of administrative and document workflow management methods, practices, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and expertise in board agenda items, procurement requisitions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, operating budget support, vehicle management, inventory control, personnel training and travel requests, coordinating employee uniforms, employee hiring and onboarding, payroll, and personnel items. The ideal candidate will have the ability to motivate, manage and lead a team; including the ability to delegate tasks, provide guidance and feedback, and ensure deadlines are met. Additionally, strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

- Manages the day-to-day operations of the unit/section, coordinates and administers assigned programs and resources.
- Sets direction and priorities and allocates staff and resources to projects and unit initiatives.
- Provides supervision, guidance, training and motivation to assigned staff; assigns, monitors and reviews work; evaluates performance and initiates corrective action as needed, including termination.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of the unit's activities.
- Implements goals, policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure operational efficiency and effective administration of unit.
- Monitors work flow, data accuracy, and overall quality of work; assures processes and procedures are accomplished according to established guidelines.
- Assesses staffing needs and identifies shortfalls; interviews, recruits and hires new staff.
- Participates in budget development by providing detailed justification and persuasive arguments for proposals or unit initiatives, but has no direct budget approval responsibility.
- Coordinates with other branches/sections within own organization and external agencies/departments to ensure efficient flow of communications and services.
- Provides consultation to customers on matters relating to functional area.
- Prepares a variety of documents for the purpose of documenting activities and administering assigned programs and resources.

Physical Requirements - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit and talk or hear.

Minimum Qualifications Required - Graduation from an accredited four-year degree granting college or university; AND
- Two years of experience directly related to the position's duties; OR
- An equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above.

Emergency Management Responsibilities In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee's department, the County's Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration.
