We are looking for a Budget Administrator 3 to join our team. The Budget Administrator 3 serves as the Budget Director for DCFS. This position is responsible for all budget administration functions within the Department. This position ensures that internal stakeholders receive high quality customer service and accurate information regarding grants and budgets administered by each office, and monitors the quality and accuracy of information, reports, and other products generated by the Budget staff. Minimum Qualifications Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been at the supervisory level or above:
Eight years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
An advanced degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, or statistics plus four years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
- Plans and directs the development of appropriated budgets for all DCFS divisions.
- Makes timely and appropriate decisions related to finances on behalf of the Department to ensure managerial control between budgeting and financial operation for programmatic spending.
- Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing agency policies and procedures related to the budget structure in the LaGov system, general financial transactions, and monitor contract budgets.
- Prepares statistical analyses, tables and charts.
- Develops Business Objects reports, Power Point presentations and Excel spreadsheets to monitor budget, prepares salary projections and other data as requested by executive staff, including the Undersecretary and Deputy Undersecretary.
- Attends legislative budget hearings and meetings with officials at all levels of government regarding budgetary matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.

Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
