THE POSITION The Washington County Department of Housing Services is recruiting for a truly exceptional
Executive Assistan t to join our team!
The Executive Assistant contributes to the Department of Housing Service's mission of creating pathways out of homelessness, promoting housing stability, and investing in affordable communities for Washington County and our residents by providing administrative support to the Director of Housing Services and supporting various administrative work on behalf of the entire department. This position also communicates to various departments including the County Administrative Office and Support Services.
The ideal candidate has strong skills in verbal and written communications, file management, organization, customer service, development and maintenance of spread sheets and reminder systems, and ability to work independently with a high degree of professionalism.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after initial onboarding and is subject to department need. - Strategically manages the Executive Director's calendar by anticipating needs, gathering relevant materials, and monitoring work streams. Manages other calendars and coordinates and schedules various appointments, meetings, events, and conferences. Work can include extensive scheduling with County Administrative Office, Chair of Board of County Commissioners, and various Commissioners, Metro, Governor's Office, Housing Authority Board of Directors, and various other jurisdictional staff.
- Provides confidential administrative support to Executive Director; completes a variety of assignments of a sensitive nature. This includes but is not limited to agenda management and note taking for the Executive Team Meeting and Management Team Meeting. Often handles confidential and strategic information.
- In partnership with broader administrative team, provides overarching leadership for department-wide administrative functions including but not limited to office management, liaison duties and functions, space planning, building security, and other related duties.
- Supports department-wide events including but not limited to All Staff Meetings, celebratory events, and others as needed.
- Provides administrative support for various department planning and work tracking processes.
- Drafts and edits various documents and talking points.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, English, Communications, or a related field, AND four (4) years of administrative and office management experience providing confidential support to an executive office. OR
- An associate degree in Public or Business Administration, English, Communications or a related field, AND six (6) years of administrative and office management experience providing confidential support to an executive office. OR
- Eight (8) years of administrative and office management experience providing confidential support to an executive office.
