Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Alternate schedule may be available. Occasional after-hours work may be required for emergencies or to support critical projects.
Work Location: This position will report to 1111 SW 2nd Ave. Portland, Oregon. This is a supervisor position. Beginning April 2025 all manager and supervisor positions will be expected to report to their worksites full time. Remote workdays remain an option, to accommodate travel, or occasionally focus on major work projects.

Position Summary The Administrative Supervisor is a key leader within the Portland Police Bureau, supporting bureau leadership, ensuring operational efficiency, and advancing administrative processes. This role oversees a team of administrative professionals, guiding the development and implementation of systems that improve workflow, address operational challenges, and drive strategic improvements.
In addition, the Administrative Supervisor handles complex, sensitive, and highly confidential matters on behalf of the Chief of Police and command staff, exercising discretion, independent judgment, and timely decision-making on critical issues.
This is a highly visible leadership position that thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, requiring adaptability, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Other key responsibilities include: - Representing bureau leadership in meetings that demand a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Providing high-level administrative support to the Chief of Police and senior leadership.
- Serving as the primary bureau liaison with elected officials and their staff.
- Overseeing the coordination of bureau ceremonies, events, and managing advisory council support functions.
- Handling confidential documents, reports, agreements, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to strict deadlines.

To Qualify The following minimum qualifications are required for this position: - Experience providing executive level administrative support.
