Associate (Portfolio Management) - Bilingual English/Spanish | Puerto Rico
A minority-owned private credit investment firm specializing in direct lending and credit opportunities is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Associate to join its Portfolio Management team. The Associate will support the analysis, valuation, and due diligence of both debt and equity investments, including gathering materials, conducting credit analysis, and building financial models. They will prepare and present investment materials to the committee and lead the process during deal closing, negotiations, and structuring. The Associate is responsible for the end-to-end execution of each transaction, working closely with support from an analyst. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for effectively engaging with a diverse range of borrowers and stakeholders across the firm's markets.
Responsibilities :
Analyze credit information and conduct comprehensive commercial underwriting
Perform financial analysis, valuation, and financial modeling
Conduct market research and comparable company analysis
Manage relationships with prospective and existing borrowers
Lead due diligence efforts and support transaction execution
Assess potential risks related to individual investments and overall portfolio exposure
Work closely with the Asset Management team to monitor positions and ensure ongoing performance tracking
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
3+ years' experience in commercial underwriting, credit analysis, financial analysis, accounting, corporate finance, investment banking, or consulting
Strong expertise in financial analysis and financial modeling
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish (required)
Strong organizational and prioritization skills to effectively manage multiple tasks

This role offers a base salary of $100,000-$110,000, with eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus that may represent a significant portion of total compensation. Final pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. The position also includes a comprehensive benefits package, featuring a 401(k) with a 25% employer match on up to 4% of total compensation, 75% employer-paid medical insurance (subject to annual changes), and company-paid life insurance. Additional benefits include a legally mandated Christmas bonus, 18 vacation days, 12 sick days, 3 personal days (available after one year), and parking.
