Job Summary: The AL Administrator reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is the designated Adult Home Administrator for Assisted Living Residence (ALR) and Enhanced Assisted Living Residence (EALR) services in accordance with New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) codes and regulations of an Adult Care Home. The AL Administrator leads the resident services team in delivery of services based on individualized service plans and communication with families, designated representatives, primary care providers, and specialists regarding resident services and care needs. This is a salaried, exempt position.
Successful candidates will possess strong leadership, operational management, and regulatory compliance expertise. Must be friendly, kind, person-centered, focused on a high quality of life for all residents, and possess knowledge of changing interests, health challenges, abilities, motivations, attitudes, and needs of individuals who are aging.
Schedule Considerations: Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p, flexible. Occasional evenings or weekends, as business needs necessitate.

Requirements
Typical job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead assisted living and support service functions of the organization in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines;
- Lead risk management/mitigation programs, quality assurance, and oversee compliance in delivery of services to ALR and EALR;
- Demonstrate a genuine desire to enhance resident quality of life, staff satisfaction, and engagement with families/designated representatives;
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Department Directors to ensure staffing, operations, and daily management of the facility, as well as quality of care, in compliance with NYSDOH;
- Work with Marketing & Sales staff to identify potential ALR/EALR admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure resident census is at capacity, controlling costs for financial stability;
- Assist in conducting pre-admission assessments and determine/assign the level of care and tier of service for admission of individuals for ALR/EALR admissions based on admission and retention standards, conferring with the Executive Director as needed;
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, resident reviews, and resident service plans in collaboration with case management, care staff, families/representatives, healthcare providers, and specialists;
- Serve as primary point of contact with NYS DOH through ongoing communications and reporting;
- Monitor and act upon NYS DOH notices, advisories, and directives distributed through the HCS system, mail, and email;
- Lead, motivate, and evaluate resident services staff, promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement;
- Develop and administer staff training and educational programs to maintain high quality of care and professional standards among direct care staff, case management, and support staff;
- Apply and enforce organizational policies and procedures, including those stipulated by NYSDOH;
- Lead change management initiatives to improve operations, adapt to evolving resident needs and ensure that Longview remains current with industry best practices;
- Attend Board of Director meetings and serve as primary liaison to the Board of Directors Internal Affairs Committee, prepare reports using key performance indicators as a quality management tool supported by data analysis and visualization;
- Ensure regular maintenance and accuracy of records and documentation for resident services, staffing, incident reports, and regulatory compliance including but not limited to charting, HIPAA, and accident reporting;
- Assist staff when issues arise, dispense medications, assist with cares, and conduct calls/meetings with families and medical providers on individualized care plans;
- Oversee resident care plans in collaboration with case management. Assist the case manager with coordination of admissions, discharges, and individualized service plans;
- Oversee care in accordance with physicians' orders, resident, and family needs. Respond proactively and effectively to residents and family concerns;
- Ensure resident and employee safety and a sanitary environment for everyone;
- Develop and maintain systems that enable residents to present grievances or recommendations regarding facility operations and programs;
- Complete and tracks continuing education units (CEUs) required for certifications as an Adult Home Administrator and stay current with regulatory and operational issues;
- Assess and respond to the organization's needs for staffing, materials, equipment, and supplies to assure, within budget parameters, availability of necessary resources;
- Coordinate the on-call system for administrative, case management, and nursing staff, and remain readily available for communication when not physically on campus;
- Respond as necessary to unplanned events requiring attention and decision-making for the wellbeing and safety of the residents;
- Investigate and report to the Department of Health allegations of occurrences which would constitute a reportable incident;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Follow up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns;
- Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests;
- Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform, and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalency certificate plus five (5) years of related work experience; OR an associate degree from an accredited college or university in an approved course of study plus three (3) years of related work experience; OR a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an approved course of study;
- At least two (2) years of related supervisory experience required;
- Gerontology certificate preferred;
- Must obtain approval as an Adult Home Administrator per NYSDOH requirements;
- Five (5) years experience leading programs for older adults, preferably in assisted living, skilled nursing, senior independent living, or hospice;
- Prior management/supervisory experience with leadership integrity and organizational ability;
- Professional written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and with empathy to build rapport and achieve high quality of service;
- Knowledgeable of resident rights and capable of fostering an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment;
- Experience developing and monitoring annual budgets;
- Strong multi-tasking abilities;
- Advanced computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and electronic software/EMAR;
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to establish priorities and delegate duties,
- Participate in a program of continuing education, as required;
- Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds;
- Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical required.
Salary Description
$85,000-$90,000 annual salary
