We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process. The L&D RN will care for patients during labor, assist with deliveries (vaginal and cesarean), and provide immediate postpartum and newborn care. This role requires clinical expertise, emotional support, and a commitment to maternal and fetal safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in all stages of labor and delivery, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases.
- Monitor fetal heart rates, maternal vital signs, and labor progression using electronic fetal monitoring and other equipment.
- Administer medications and IV therapies, including epidurals, oxytocin, and antibiotics, per provider orders.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency interventions.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families about labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Conduct postpartum assessments and care for both mother and baby.
- Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies such as fetal distress, preeclampsia, and hemorrhage.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and other members of the healthcare team.
certifications: NRP, BLS, ACLS
Comfortable working with CPN and Cerner • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery
