About The Position Experienced Emergency Medicine Physician needed for an 84-day locum tenens assignment at a Hospital in Oklahoma. Starting 08/01/2025, this position requires nocturnist coverage from 7pm to 7am, with a minimum of 12 shifts per month (up to 14 shifts if agreeable). The physician will manage level 3 and above cases in a fully equipped ED, working alongside a PA during night shifts. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment, and coordination with the hospitalist team for admissions. The role involves minimal procedures beyond central lines. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling and the chance to work in a well-staffed emergency department transitioning to Epic EHR in November.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide emergency medical care for level 3 and above cases
• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in the emergency department
• Coordinate patient care with hospitalist team for admissions
• Perform necessary procedures such as central line insertions
• Collaborate with night shift PA and other ED staff
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using RPMS (transitioning to Epic)
• Ensure efficient patient flow and timely treatment
• Adhere to all hospital policies and emergency medicine protocols
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed
• Adapt to flexible scheduling within the 7pm - 7am shift
Additional Information:
• Any state medical license will be accepted
• Experience with RPMS EHR preferred; Epic proficiency beneficial for November transition
• Comfort with nocturnist schedule required
• Strong clinical decision-making skills essential
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced ED environment
