**Job Title: CVOR Nurse - 13-Week Contract**
**Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:00 - 16:30)**
**Position Overview:**
Join our dynamic team as a CVOR Nurse in a premier facility offering an exciting 13-week contract. As a highly specialized nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), you will play a crucial role in the surgical care of patients undergoing open-heart procedures, including Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), valve replacements (aortic, mitral, and pulmonic), and transplants. We seek a compassionate, skilled professional with a strong background in CVOR to deliver exceptional patient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients undergoing cardiac surgeries.
- Float to the Main Operating Room if no CVOR cases are scheduled during your shift.
- Participate in daily surgical procedures including open-heart surgeries and other advanced cardiac interventions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in compliance with facility charting systems.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 1.5 years of CVOR nursing experience is required.
- Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT is mandatory; BLS certification is also required.
- Proficient in the technical skills relevant to cardiovascular surgeries including Aortic Aneurysm repair, Mitral valve replacement, and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) management.
- Experience in trauma (Level II preferred) and familiarity with Community Hospital charting systems is advantageous.
- All candidates must possess an active NJ or Compact nursing license at the time of submission.
**Schedule Requirements:**
- Work schedule comprises 3x12-hour shifts with 24 hours of on-call duties required per month.
- Pre-approved time off must be submitted with at least 7 days prior notice; no additional requests for time off will be accommodated once on-site.
**Patient Demographics:**
- Work with a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Be prepared to handle a range of patient acuity levels during assigned shifts.
**Floating Requirements:**
- Nurses are expected to float within their skillset as needed based on census and staffing levels.
**Cancellations/Attendance Policies:**
- Travelers are required to provide a 14-day notice for contract cancellations, or a 10-day notice for CRISIS/RAPID contracts. Failure to comply may result in a system DNR.
