Registered Nurse - Neonatal ICU/NICU - Newborn Nursary -
Required Certs: CA RN, BLS, NRP
Preferred NICU with Post Partum experience.
Patient Care- Provides care based on the age related needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with consideration of their development/psychosocial needs, environmental safety, education needs, communication style, and level of understanding.
Will access only the minimum amount of information necessary to care for the patient. (

Patient Diagnoses: Hypoglycemia, Premature > 34 wks; Drug withdrawal, R/O sepsis, Respiratory distress; Hyperbilirubinemia
Special Procedures/Unit Details: In Nursery- stabilize & manage infants equal to Level II NICU at 34 wks and above- CPAP, UVC/UAC lines, Nasal cannula, IV therapy, Antibiotics, blood transfusions, Eat/Sleep/Console for drug withdrawal, feeder-grower requiring gavage feedings.
Stabilize and manage for transfer to higher level of care- Intubation, surfactant, umbilical line placement, passive brain cooling.
Medications - seizures: PGE or dopamine is rare but initiated in extreme cases.
Special Equipment: CPAP, Infant Vent; Nasal cannula; Alaris and ICU Medical IV pumps; Madella breast pump and Breast milk warmer; Draeger infant warmer.
