Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Level 2B Nursery Registered Nurse to join our team for a 36-hour per week, long-term assignment. You'll be working night shifts and every other weekend in our Special Care Nursery, providing specialized care to newborns.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for newborns in our 25-bed Special Care Nursery, including L&D, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery units.
- Manage patient care for a diverse population, maintaining a low clinician-to-patient ratio (e.g., 1:1 for active labor or high-acuity cases; 1:3-4 for postpartum).
- Perform skilled newborn care duties and utilize the EPIC charting system for all documentation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for mothers and babies.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Special Care Nursery (SCN) or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is required.
- Certifications: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are mandatory.
- Skills: Demonstrated expertise in special care nursery and newborn care.
- Shift Requirements: Must be available for night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) and every other weekend. This position does not have rotating shifts, on-call, or floating requirements.
