Travel Psychiatric RN – Behavioral Health
Location: Bridgeport, CT
Start Date: August 4, 2025
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (8/4–11/3/2025)
Shifts: 5x8s (Days and Evenings based on weekly needs)

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW) required, some holidays, no on-call

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a dynamic behavioral health team in an acute care setting. This unit treats both child/adolescent and adult patients, requiring flexibility and a calm, confident approach to behavioral care. This is a great opportunity for nurses who thrive in high-impact environments and are passionate about mental health.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care to behavioral health populations in a hospital setting
Manage patients with acute psychiatric diagnoses
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, psychiatrists, and support staff
De-escalation and crisis management in accordance with MOAB protocols
Documentation using EPIC EMR

Requirements:

3–5 years of recent Behavioral Health RN experience in an acute care setting
Experience with both child/adolescent and adult populations
Proficiency with EPIC EMR – Required
Current RN license in CT – Required
BLS Certification (AHA) – Required
Must be willing to work weekends
MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviors) training will be provided on-site (CPI not used)
