Part-Time Machine Operator

A growing fabrication team in the Manitowoc area is seeking a skilled and reliable Machinist to support day-to-day operations in a clean, well-equipped machine shop. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and a variety of hands-on responsibilities for someone with experience in both manual and CNC machining.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate both CNC (Mazak) and manual lathes, mills, saws, and drill presses
Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files
Perform in-process quality checks and adjustments to ensure parts meet specs
Maintain and monitor machinery, reporting issues or required maintenance
Follow shop safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
Read and complete work orders accurately
Assist with basic material handling and maintain an organized work area
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
Perform other duties as assigned

Hours: 25 - 30 hours per week, 1st shift hours

5 -day work week (6 hours per day) OR 4-day work week (7 hours per day)

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training a plus
Minimum 3 years of CNC and manual machining experience
Experience with Mazak equipment strongly preferred
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Basic knowledge of CNC programming and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
Forklift certification preferred (training available)
Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
