Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Location: Easton, MD 21601

Shifts: Night 3x12 hr (7pm–7:30am) or Mid 3x12 hr (3pm–3:30am)

Duration: 26 weeks

Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $2,331.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $756.00 Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,575.00 Per Week

Job Duties:

Provide direct nursing care to patients of all age groups (neonates to geriatrics) in a fast-paced emergency room setting.
Perform patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on severity and urgency.
Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of nursing care.
Administer medications, including emergency drugs, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, IV vasopressors, and blood products safely and accurately.
Start IVs, perform phlebotomy, and provide central line care/management.
Assist with respiratory interventions such as CPAP/BiPAP management, intubation, chest tube insertion/management, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), and care of ventilated patients.
Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage patients requiring emergency cardiac response, including obtaining 12-lead EKGs.
Provide care and interventions for patients with neurological emergencies such as strokes (CVA) and seizures.
Manage acute psychiatric and behavioral health emergencies, including suicidal patients, acute psychosis, violent behavior, and psychiatric holds.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years ER experience required, previous charge nurse experience required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (Calm Every Storm online only), NRP*, TNCC* (preferred)
Charting System: Epic required
Hospital Experience: Community hospital experience required, teaching hospital experience not required
Travel Experience: Not required
Skills: IV therapy, emergency medications, respiratory management (intubation, vent), psych/behavioral health, cardiac monitoring, orthopedics (splints), neurological care (CVA), triage, isolation precautions, blood product administration
License: Must have active MD RN or Compact License at submission
References: 2 professional references required (supervisor and charge RN acceptable)

Local Rule: Candidate residence must be >50 miles from hospital
