Job Overview
Johnson City Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care. The candidate must be proficient across multiple surgical specialties and be comfortable with both adult and pediatric populations in trauma and general surgery settings.
Schedule & Shift Info
- Shift Type: Day Shift – 4x10s (Occasional 12s may be required based on department need)
- On-Call: Yes, occasional
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float: Not required
Minimum Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience
- Experience in General OR, Pediatric General OR, and Trauma surgeries
- Certifications:
- Required: AHA BLS
- Preferred: ACLS, CNOR
- Licensure: Active RN license (license-in-hand at time of submission)
- Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
- Local Radius Rule: Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
- Education: BSN required for international candidates

You must have experience and/or be comfortable in the following surgical specialties:
- Orthopedics & Spine: ACL Reconstruction, Total Joint Replacement, Spinal Fusions
- General Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernia Repairs, Thyroidectomy
- Pediatrics: Pediatric General Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic
- Trauma Cases: MVA injuries, amputations, gunshot/stab wounds
- Neuro/Spine: Craniotomies, Laminectomies, Fusions
- Vascular & Robotics: Aneurysm Repairs, Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci, Mako)
- Urology, GYN, Plastics, ENT, Endoscopy, Bariatrics
- Equipment knowledge: Electrosurgical Units, Hana Table, Cell Saver, Laser/Radiation Safety
