Position Summary
As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada's highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients.
We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status.
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing privacy-related compliance activities, including policy development, incident investigation, workforce training, and risk mitigation strategies. Ensures the organization's adherence to federal and state privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the 21st Century Cures Act, and applicable state privacy regulations.
Job Requirement
Education/Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Public Administration or related field and two (2) years of professional experience in auditing or compliance management, including experience with compliance with federal regulations or current healthcare privacy laws.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHC) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) required, or must be obtained within 18 months of hire or
