Time Commitment: Approximately 4–6 Board meetings per year, plus occasional involvement in subcommittees or events.

About Highgate Counselling Centre

Highgate Counselling Centre (HCC) is a long-established and respected provider of affordable psychotherapy and counselling services. Built on a strong ethos of social responsibility, the Centre was created to provide emotional and psychological support to those who needed it—regardless of their financial means.

As well as counselling, the Centre also delivers a BACP-accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, which has been running since 1994, alongside a Certificate-level training course. Both programmes reflect contemporary thinking in psychotherapy and are underpinned by HCC’s enduring commitment to quality and inclusion.

HCC continues to evolve while remaining true to its founding vision: to offer accessible, high-quality counselling within a close-knit and supportive therapeutic community.

The Opportunity

Highgate Counselling Centre is currently seeking a new Trustee with fundraising experience to join its Board. This is a valuable opportunity for individuals who are passionate about mental health, education, and social inclusion to help shape the future direction of a trusted community organisation.

Trustees work collectively to guide HCC’s strategic direction, ensure good governance, and safeguard the charity’s values, purpose, and reputation. The role is voluntary and provides a chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals accessing mental health support.

Who Should Apply?

HCC welcomes interest from individuals who are committed to its values and mission. Previous board experience is not required. The Centre is particularly keen to hear from those with expertise in fundraising, or income generation. Diversity and inclusion are important to HCC, and applications from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged.
