The PACU RN is responsible for the continuous monitoring and care of post-operative patients. This includes neuro, trauma, ortho, and general surgery cases. The nurse ensures patient safety, manages pain, and provides education during the recovery phase.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor vital signs and assess patient recovery from anesthesia
Communicate condition changes to surgeons and care teams
Perform post-op documentation and physical assessments
Provide discharge teaching and emotional support
Recognize and respond to post-op complications
Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate

Nurse Qualifications:

Current State of Hawaii RN License
Minimum 1 year of recent RN acute experience (within the past 24 months/2 years)
Current CPR/BLS Certification
Current TB/2-Step TB/Chest X-Ray/QUANTIFERON
Federal FingerPrint
N95 Fit Test
Proof of vaccinations: MMR, TDAP, Varicella, COVID and FLU
