Job Summary
The City of Gahanna is seeking an Economic Development professional to lead initiatives that support placemaking, small business growth, and community engagement in key development areas. This role involves creating and implementing placemaking strategies, providing technical assistance to local small businesses, and fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders to drive economic vitality and enhance the visitor experience. Ideal candidates will have a background in placemaking, economic development, event or city planning, along with strong project management and communication skills.

Starting Salary Range: The starting salary is between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($66,955.20 - $82,014.40). Candidates will start at the minimum of the range unless their skills, experience, education, or other factors exceed the qualifications for the position.
Essential Job Functions
The position of the Economic Development Administrator - Destination & Small Business Development is under the direction for the Economic Development Director and facilitates and collaborates on economic development related activities as they relate to key small business growth, retention, and attraction. This position provides business and technical support for the expansion, recruitment, and retention needs or large and small local businesses. The individual assuming this position will facilitate placemaking strategies for Priority Development areas and build capacity among stakeholder
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A typical way to qualify is three (3) years of progressively responsible experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration, Economic Development, Public Policy, or related field.
Licensure or Certification Requirements

Ohio Economic Development Association OEDI Certification, AICP, or similar certification is preferred.
Current and valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract to meet criteria for insurability established by the City of Gahanna.
